SUMMARY

The job of Dogtender is one of the most important jobs in the Bar K organization.  The Dogtender’s goal is to ensure the safety and welfare of all dogs and humans in Bar K’s off-leash play area, and to make sure that all dogs and humans have an overwhelmingly positive experience at Bar K.  Dogtenders report to the Park Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the gated area, to ensure that all dogs and humans safely enter and exit the off-leash play area, that dogs are routed to the appropriate large or small dog play areas, and that no unleashed dog accidentally exits the off-leash area.
  • Carefully supervise the play in the off-leash area to ensure the safety of all dogs and humans. This includes:
    • Closely observing the dogs’ play to identify potential conflicts and taking action to prevent them from happening
    • Quickly intervening in the event of any conflict to safely separate the dogs
    • Immediately alerting management if the Dogtender believes that any dog in the off-leash area is not properly socialized for off-leash play
  • Keep the off-leash area clean at all times by removing dog waste as quickly as possible and cleaning the affected area with cleaning supplies provided throughout the park
  • Make sure water bowls in the off-leash area are filled with water at all times when there are dogs in the park
  • Always represent Bar K positively by interacting with guests in a friendly, helpful and enthusiastic manner. Answer guests’ questions regarding dog behavior or Bar K’s business practices to the best of their ability, or refer the guest to a Bar K manager.

Bar K is a unique business combining a thoughtfully designed, fully-staffed dog park with a modern bar, restaurant and event space. Bar K brings engaged, community-minded people and their dogs together to share connections with their pups and each other in a joyful and creative space.

 

Our goal at Bar K is to demonstrate an unsurpassed level of customer service to Bar K guests — both human and dog – to ensure that all guests have a joyful experience that consistently exceeds expectations. 

 It is a complex concept that requires expert execution across multiple business segments including food and beverage, marketing, dog recreation, retail and others. 

 

SUMMARY

 The job of “GUEST AMBASSADOR” — what we call our front desk staff — is one of the most important jobs in the Bar K organization.  You will be the first face that our guests see when they visit our facility, and you will set the tone for their visit.  A successful Ambassador will be friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about all aspects of our operations.  Guest Ambassadors will report to the Hospitality Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the front desk, ensuring that all guests (human and dog) greeted as they approach and enter Bar K.
  • Assist guests with completing either our Guest Entry Form or Membership application and take payments as appropriate.
  • Answer all guests’ questions courteously and accurately.
  • Observe dogs’ behavior as they approach and enter Park. Communicate via radio with Dogtenders as appropriate to alert them to potential challenges.  Request Dogtender assistance at front gate area when necessary. 
  • Manage retail space adjacent to front desk area. This includes making sure area is neat and orderly, monitoring inventory, answering guest questions (sizing, pricing, etc.) and processing retail sales transactions.
  • Managing Bar K’s Member Database to ensure that data is accurate and up to date. This includes data entry to ensure new member info is accurately entered into database, contacting veterinarians to obtain updated records, noting incomplete or missing information and passing this along to Database Manager for follow-up.  
  • When not busy with guests, assisting other front-of-house staff to ensure that all guests have an overwhelming positive experience at Bar K

Assistant Manager

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, and maintaining high food quality and service standards. Catering/Event Staff

We are in search of some new ROCKSTAR talent to work with us for 80-100 events this year. 

Reliable transportation is a MUST as staff may be assigned to work at multiple locations depending on the need. Locations including, but not limited to: CityPark Stadium, Enterprise Center, The Dome at America’s Center, local festivals (Spring and Fall), and working at our South Grand location prepping. Staff may also occasionally be asked to run and deliver food from one location to another (i.e S. Grand location to CityPark). All staff must be available during nights and weekends as the majority of all events take place during these times. 

We need both Back of House (Kitchen experience strongly preferred) and Front of Houes (MUST be customer service oriented) staff for these events. All applicants must be 18+.

Stadium wages average between $16-24+ per hour including tips. Team members will be eligible for discounts at Steve’s Hot Dogs, Steve’s Meltdown, and our sister restaurants The Fountain on Locust and The Fountain on Delmar. 

Applicants with stadium experience and/or ServSafe Certification preferred. Must have proof of Hep A Shots.

Line Cook
