Westborough Country Club is currently seeking responsible and energetic individuals for a lifeguard position at our beautiful, family-oriented club located in the Kirkwood area of St. Louis, Missouri. Our Club is a second home to a young, fun membership that embraces authenticity and our hard-working staff. We have 525 member families and roughly a two-year wait list to join the Club. The pool is the hub of activity in the summer (and is the biggest of all the clubs in the area!). About the Position:

  • Part-Time (Seasonal)
  • Hourly Wage: Ranging from $15.00 to $19.00/Hour (This number is determined based on experience level).
  • Normal hours of service are 10:00am-9:00pm. This position would be an excellent summer job for students and provides a flexible schedule!
  • The pool opens one week prior to Memorial Day and closes two weeks after Labor Day.

The Manager is a friendly, organized, and energetic leader. The Manager assists the AGM and GM in overseeing all operations of the restaurant, they assist with the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to achieve objectives in sales, costs, employee retention,  food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and above all ensure a positive guest experience.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of MTJ and its standards, procedures, products and services
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and inspire a team to strive for the same putting hospitality at the forefront of operations
  • Ensure product quality and menu item accuracy

Our goal at Bar K is to demonstrate an unsurpassed level of customer service to Bar K guests — both human and dog – to ensure that all guests have a joyful experience that consistently exceeds expectations. 

It is a complex concept that requires expert execution across multiple business segments including food and beverage, marketing, dog recreation, retail and others. 

SUMMARY

Creative programming and successful public and private events are a major component of the Bar K Experience at each of our locations. The Program and Event Manager is instrumental in driving the success of our business.  The Program and Event Manager will report directly to the General Manager.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Planning & Coordination

Private Events

  • Work with the management team to establish pricing structure and monthly/annual target budget projections for private events.
  • Develop and implement marketing/growth strategies for the achievement of private event revenue goals.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to develop and execute marketing strategy to maximize private event bookings during both peak and non-peak times.
  • Market Bar K’s private event capabilities to local businesses, organizations, apartment buildings, including through direct sales calls and through other networking channels such as event planning associations.
  • Respond to all event inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Engage with potential private event customers to answer questions, negotiate terms and schedule bookings.
  • Work with General Manager and other Bar K departments as appropriate to ensure they are aware of all private events and that all needed resources will be provided.
  • Along with staff, successfully execute all private events, including set up for events, welcoming hosts/guests, staffing, etc.
  • Work room during events, greet host and remain in contact with host to ensure group’s needs are being met.
  • Track revenue related to all private events.
  • Follow up after events to solicit feedback from guests and continually improve operations.

 

Public Events

  • Implement and execute Company’s strategy for recurring weekly public events such as Puppies’ Night Out, Adoption Saturday, breed meet-ups, etc.
  • Develop and execute other creative social, educational, and recreational programming to increase brand awareness, guest traffic, and sales.
  • Work with management to schedule events on the Bar K stage and other venues, such as regular musical performances, speaker series, open mic, karaoke, etc.
  • Work with Marketing Manager to promote all public programming successfully and creatively.
  • Work with Vendors and Partners to elevate the guest experience at our public events, for example, free giveaways, vendor presentations, vendor booths, etc.
  • Manage and track all monetary and in-kind donations from Bar K to non-profit fundraising events.

SUMMARY

The General Manager (GM) is one of the most critical roles in the organization and is responsible for all aspects of the successful management and operation of each individual Bar K facility. The GM will report directly to the Director of Store Operations.  Each department manager at the location will report directly to the GM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the venue, including cash control/security procedures, maintaining proper inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions, etc.
  • Preparing regular financial reports at direction of the Director of Store Operations and reporting on same to Director of Store Operations and leadership team.

  • Execute the company’s Hospitality Guidelines, respond to all customer service needs, and provide the highest standards of service.
  • Complete financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies.
  • Recruit, interview and hire management team members; train, supervise and motivate; take appropriate disciplinary and other employment action when necessary and in accordance with company’s Employee Handbook.
  • Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Represent the venue in a professional manner to the community-at-large, including local businesses, civic organizations, and media.
