Qualifications

A job offer for this position is contingent on passing a physical examination to determine if the candidate possesses the physical capabilities necessary to perform the essential functions.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Six months experience in the preparation and service of food in an institutional or commercial food service facility.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, including basic knife skills, and service and sanitation methods. 
• Ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen utensils and supplies (e.g. 40 pounds)
• Good physical health. 
• Customer service and supervisory experience with a desire to provide high-quality customer service is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Prepare food according to instructions and follow proper food handling techniques.  Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure working area.  Set up service/preparation areas as assigned; clean and replenish the service/preparation area during and after service.  Provide high-quality service to customers; assist in meeting the department’s customer service objectives.  Direct, help train, and assist Snack Bar Attendant, FSW II, FSW I, and student employees in food preparation.  Help the department constantly improve and reach its vision (commitment to excellence and passion for people).  Perform other duties as assigned. 

Must successfully pass a cook test to exhibit your culinary skills.
