Job Summary:

As the first point of contact for members and guests, the Front Desk Day Receptionist plays a vital role in shaping the welcoming experience at the Club. This individual provides top-tier customer service, manages reservations, supports club communications, and ensures the front-of-house operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Reception & Member Services:

· Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner.

· Escort members to appropriate club areas as needed.

· Provide coat check services during winter months.

· Answer incoming calls, direct them to appropriate departments, and assist with general inquiries.

· Coordinate and manage the reservation book up to two months in advance, including recurring club event reservations.

· Receive and record daily reservations, ensuring timely communication of updates to relevant staff.

· Collaborate with the Event Manager and Chef to update and distribute daily menus, buffet cards, table signage, and other printed materials.

· Inform members about club events, facilities, and services—never confirm private space reservations (these must go through the Events Director).

· Keep the BEO (Banquet Event Order) Receptionist Binder current for evening and weekend shifts.

· Maintain a clean, organized reception area, including the foyer and coat closets.

· Freshen up floral arrangements in entry, living, and dining areas during non-peak hours.

Administrative & Office Support:

· Track and update daily menu counts; prepare new count sheets weekly.

· Perform end-of-day POS updates and manage any open carryout files.

· Maintain updated employee and departmental directories.

· Assist with administrative tasks, including internal communications and mail distribution for member groups (e.g., Mah Jongg, Book Club).

Qualifications:

· Previous front desk, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

· Proficient with basic office software and reservation systems.

· Friendly, professional demeanor with a service-first mindset.

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.

Work Schedule:

· This is a daytime/evening position; availability on weekdays is required. Some flexibility for special events on weekends may be requested.
