    Job Description
    Competitive Gymnastics Coach (DP & Xcel) Oak City Gymnastics - Raleigh/Durham, NC Oak City Gymnastics is a growing program seeking a Competitive Team Coach. to support and develop athletes across DP and Xcel levels. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about athlete development and interested in being part of a program that values structure, consistency, and long-term growth. While experience with DP Levels 6–10 and/or Xcel upper levels (Diamond/Sapphire) is preferred, we also welcome candidates with strong developmental coaching experience who are looking to grow into higher-level coaching. Responsibilities Coach competitive gymnasts in DP and/or Xcel programs. Lead structured practices focused on skill development, strength, flexibility, and routine preparation Provide clear, constructive feedback to athletes Ensure athlete safety through proper spotting and supervision Collaborate with coaching staff to support athlete progression and team goals Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and staff Attend and coach at competitions (local, regional, and national as applicable) Assist with additional groups or levels as needed Qualifications Experience coaching gymnastics (competitive and/or strong developmental background) Knowledge of skill progressions and technique Ability to safely spot skills appropriate to assigned level Reliable, professional, and team-oriented Strong communication and organizational skills USAG certification (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for growth into higher-level coaching roles Supportive and team-oriented coaching environment Athletes who are motivated and engaged Ongoing development and education encouraged Schedule Evening weekday hours (primarily 4:00pm–9:00pm) Some weekend availability required for competitions and/or practice  Apply If you are looking for a coaching position where you can make an impact and continue to grow, we would love to hear from you.     What You’ll Do

    As a Gymnastics Coach with us, you’ll play a key role in helping kids build confidence, coordination, and life skills through movement. Responsibilities include:

    • Coaching or assisting in recreational gymnastics classes for children ages 2+

    • Teaching basic gymnastics skills, drills, and progressions with energy and encouragement

    • Creating a safe, structured, and positive class environment where kids can thrive

    • Setting up, cleaning, and sanitizing equipment before and after classes

    • Spotting athletes appropriately and following all safety and child-protection protocols

    • Communicating clearly with parents, athletes, and fellow coaches

    • Collaborating with our team to deliver a consistent, high-quality class experience

     

    Who You Are

    We’re looking for someone who:

    • Has experience working with children (coaching, teaching, babysitting, camp counseling, etc.)

    • Brings energy, positivity, and patience to every class

    • Has a background in gymnastics, tumbling, cheerleading, dance, or youth sports (preferred, not required)

    • Is reliable, responsible, and always on time

    • Is confident giving clear instructions and leading small groups

    • Wants to learn, grow, and improve as a coach — we’ll provide training and ongoing support

    Job Description

    Oak City Gymnastics is looking for an energetic, organized, and creative Birthday Party Lead & Coordinator to lead our birthday party program. This individual serves as the primary host and leader for every birthday party, ensuring each celebration is fun, organized, and memorable from beginning to end.

    The Birthday Party Lead & Coordinator oversees the entire party experience while working alongside assistant staff members who help with set-up, activities, supervision, and clean-up. This position is responsible for directing the flow of the party, leading activities, coordinating staff responsibilities, and ensuring every child and family has an exceptional experience.

    No gymnastics experience is required—we'll teach you the gymnastics! We're looking for someone with outstanding leadership, creativity, organization, and customer service skills who loves working with children.


    Responsibilities

    Party Leadership

    • Serve as the lead host for all birthday parties.
    • Direct the overall flow and timing of each party from arrival through dismissal.
    • Lead games, activities, gymnastics rotations, and transitions throughout the event.
    • Work alongside and direct assistant staff members to ensure the party runs smoothly.
    • Adapt activities based on the age, abilities, personalities, and energy level of each group.
    • Create an exciting, engaging, and positive atmosphere where every child feels included.

    Party Coordination

    • Help ensure party rooms, decorations, and supplies are prepared before guests arrive.
    • Welcome birthday families and guests.
    • Confirm waivers and party paperwork are complete.
    • Communicate with parents throughout the event and answer questions as needed.
    • Anticipate needs, solve problems quickly, and keep the party running on schedule.

    Customer Experience

    • Make every birthday child feel celebrated and special.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service to every family.
    • Help create an experience that families will remember and recommend to others.
    • Represent Oak City Gymnastics in a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic manner.

    Facility & Teamwork

    • Work collaboratively with coaches and party assistants.
    • Assist with resetting the gym and party areas following each event.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
    • Follow all Oak City Gymnastics safety policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Love working with children of all ages.
    • Have an energetic, outgoing, and positive personality.
    • Be creative and enjoy making celebrations exciting and memorable.
    • Understand child development and know how to engage children with different personalities, interests, and developmental levels.
    • Be confident leading groups of children while directing a small team of assistant staff.

    • Have excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Be dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
    • Work well independently while collaborating with others.

    Previous experience in childcare, education, camps, recreation, theater, event hosting, customer service, or birthday parties is preferred, but not required.


    Schedule

    • Birthday parties are held on Saturdays and Sundays.
    • Candidates should have consistent weekend availability.
    • The number of parties scheduled will vary based on bookings throughout the year.
