Responsibilites include:

• Manager on duty when General Manager is not present.
• Oversees general operations, employee responsibilities, and customer interactions.
• Handles daily finances.
• Makes sure everyone is trained on proper food preparation, proper and legal alcoholic beverage service, kitchen safety techniques, and understands health standards.
• Strong Knowledge of FOH operations

Westport Social is a refined bar and gaming lounge in Westport Plaza featuring indoor bocce, pop-a-shot, floor and table shuffleboard, ping pong, darts,  private karaoke rooms, live music, and more! And of course, we have a stocked bar along with a full kitchen serving small, shareable plates.

Westport Social is seeking someone who is willing and able to take direction of and maintain order in all areas of the kitchen department. Someone who has the ability to make sound decisions and inspire others to perform well. This position reports directly to the General Manager, Executive Chef, Director of Restaurants and Vice President of Food and Beverage.

Job duties and position requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Directly supervising a department of 10-20 employees.
• Developing, selecting and costing menu items and recipes.
• Enforcing and maintaining food safety, handling and sanitation practices.
• Ensures compliance with operational standards, corporate policies, and federal/state/local laws and ordinances.
• Adheres to BOH standards and service levels in order to increase sales and minimize costs, including but not limited to: food, beverage, supplies and labor.
• Executes proper hiring, and associate development.
• Provides direction to all BOH associates on operational and procedural issues.
• Essential supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and delegating work to departmental associates; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving any and all issues that arise.
