STEAM Art Teacher – Part Time

The Art teacher at Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead is a passionate, energetic individual with experience working with children in small and large groups in an educational setting. They are responsible for leading a lesson for student groups of up to 12 students. Must have a clean driving record. Strong art skills and experience working with groups of children are a must. Strong tech skills are preferred.
This position is primarily for our After School Program which runs daily during the school year on school days. We also host full day "Mini Camps" on days off from school, and Full Day Summer Camps each full week of summer.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach art lessons with pre-made lessons plans
- Create new lesson plans and teach those plans to the class
- Track student progress and present the information to parents
- Reinforce classroom rules and Full STEAM Ahead expectations
- Manage students outside the classroom, such as during lunch breaks and "Free Explore"
- Arrive at 2:00 pm for setup and organization on school days
- Drive a STEAM van (15 passenger van) to pick up students from specified schools
- Work with the "STEAM Culture" elements to promote student behavior and growth
- Assist in End of Day cleanup and organization
- Assist with student check in/out
- Maintain Art classroom equipment and inventory
- Mini Camps (School Break Camps)

They have a background in education and have experience working with children in various contexts. Most importantly, they are a dynamic and engaging teacher, and will travel to teach STEAM classes across multiple locations per week. They can plan and develop curricula as well as follow lesson plans provided by Full STEAM Ahead. They have a broad range of responsibilities ranging from teaching, planning, partnership development, STEAM Lab organization, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching STEAM classes at several different Off Site Programs (OSP)

Scheduling for all OSP

Curriculum Design and organization for all OSP

Inventory for all OSP

Oversight at all OSP - communicating with partner organizations, admin, teachers, ensuring quality, preparedness, etc.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (Education, Psychology, Family Studies, or related field preferred)

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Education Director or Assistant Director in early childhood education

Schedule
The schedule and responsibilities for the Off Site Specialist vary with the school year. Their primary responsibilities take place during the school year as they travel to partner schools and organizations to teach, while during breaks they help out on campus at Full STEAM Ahead to help with the extra staffing needs during school breaks.

They are very comfortable with a broad range of responsibilities ranging from teaching, planning, training, customer service, event organization, makerspace setup, and marketing.

Schedule
The Site Director is responsible for making sure there is someone on site by 8am to open every morning and there is someone staying until 5pm to close every day. The official hours can vary, but will constitute a 8 hour shift between 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday during the entirety of the summer.
