PAYROLL MANAGER

NYC-Based Multi-Unit Restaurant Group | 50+ Locations Nationwide

Rapidly growing restaurant group with 50+ locations across the USA seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our NYC headquarters. Our explosive growth creates exceptional opportunities for career advancement in a dynamic hospitality environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Oversee all payroll operations for 1,500+ employees across multiple states. Ensure accurate, timely processing while implementing scalable systems to support continued expansion. Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to optimize processes and maintain multi-state compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•       Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 50+ locations across multiple states

•       Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and wage laws

•       Process complex restaurant payroll elements including tips, tip credits, and pooled houses

•       Oversee payroll tax filings, quarterly reporting, and year-end processes (W-2s, 1099s, ACA)

•       Lead implementation of payroll technology and HRIS integrations

•       Conduct audits and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls

•       Collaborate with Finance on GL reconciliations and labor cost analysis

•       Resolve employee payroll inquiries and train operational teams on compliance

QUALIFICATIONS

•       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

•       5+ years payroll management experience in multi-unit restaurant, retail, or hospitality

•       Expert knowledge of multi-state payroll compliance and restaurant-specific requirements

•       Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar)

•       Advanced Excel skills and HRIS/timekeeping system experience

•       CPP certification preferred

•       Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

•       Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments
