Warehouse Retail Food Director
We are a fast-growing retail food company seeking an experienced and highly organized Warehouse Retail Food Director to oversee all warehouse operations, purchasing, and inventory management. This role is ideal for a leader who has deep knowledge of food warehousing, strong operational skills, and the ability to build and manage high-performing teams.
The Warehouse Retail Food Director will ensure accurate purchasing, efficient inventory flow, compliant food handling, and optimized warehouse systems — all while maintaining clear communication across departments. Bilingual English–Spanish is a strong plus.
Position Overview
The Warehouse Retail Food Director is responsible for directing all warehouse functions, including inventory management, purchasing, receiving, stocking, workflow efficiency, and team leadership. This role requires strong computer skills, familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), and the ability to oversee a fast-paced food warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate movement of all food and retail products

Manage purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and ordering processes using digital inventory and procurement systems

Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts, audits, and system updates

Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff; develop a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork

Implement and optimize warehouse systems, workflow processes, and operational best practices

Ensure compliance with food safety standards, storage guidelines, and regulatory requirements

Coordinate receiving, stocking, product rotation, and outbound distribution to retail locations

Monitor KPIs related to accuracy, productivity, shrink, and inventory control

Collaborate with retail, finance, and operations teams to support company goals and improve efficiency

Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, leadership, and vendors

Utilize warehouse technology, spreadsheets, and purchasing software for reporting and decision-making
Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in a food warehouse, distribution center, or retail food operations leadership role

Strong computer skills, including familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office (Excel required)

Proven ability to manage and motivate teams in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Strong understanding of inventory control, purchasing processes, and supply chain operations

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in warehouse temperatures

Bilingual English–Spanish preferred but not required

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize processes and reduce operational inefficiencies
