Job Summary

Frida’s in University City is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Host / Hostess to join our front-of-house team.

As the first point of contact for guests, the Host plays a critical role in creating a welcoming and organized dining experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and seating flow, and supporting the service team to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

The ideal candidate has a warm personality, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay organized during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a welcoming first impression

• Manage reservations and maintain an organized wait list when necessary

• Seat guests efficiently while maintaining balanced server sections

• Communicate wait times clearly and professionally

Dining Room Flow

• Monitor table turn times and assist with seating flow during service

• Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth guest transitions

• Support the service team to maintain a positive guest experience

Restaurant Support

• Assist with setting and clearing tables as needed

• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the dining room

• Help ensure the host stand and entry area remain presentable

Opening & Closing Duties

• Assist with restaurant opening and closing responsibilities

• Support light cleaning and reset tasks at the end of service

Schedule

• Part-time position

• Must be available Friday and Saturday evenings

• As patio and seasonal business increases, schedule will transition to weekday evening shifts

Frida's is seeking an experienced server/bartender to join our daytime team. We're looking for someone who enjoys hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently provide excellent service while preparing quality cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional looking for consistent daytime shifts in an established, chef-owned restaurant.

Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Deliver warm, attentive service from greeting through payment
• Guide guests through the menu and make thoughtful food and beverage recommendations
• Maintain a clean, organized section throughout service
• Resolve guest concerns professionally

Bar Service

• Prepare cocktails, beer, wine, espresso drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar
• Restock liquor, wine, beer, garnishes, and bar supplies
• Ensure consistency and quality with every drink served

Operations

• Support smooth lunch service in both the dining room and bar
• Complete opening duties and side work
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen and management
• Help maintain a clean, organized restaurant throughout the shift

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of serving experience
• Bartending experience required
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Comfortable working independently
• Positive attitude with a strong sense of urgency
• Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
• Weekday lunch availability required; schedule varies based on business needs

Compensation

• Hourly (tipped position) + tips
