Job Summary

Diego’s Cantina is seeking a friendly and organized Host / Hostess to join our front-of-house team. As the first point of contact for guests, the Host plays an important role in creating a welcoming and efficient dining experience.

This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and wait lists, coordinating seating flow, and supporting the service team to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to stay organized during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and create a welcoming first impression

• Manage reservations and maintain an organized wait list when necessary

• Seat guests efficiently while balancing server sections

• Communicate wait times clearly and professionally

Dining Room Coordination

• Monitor table availability and help manage table turn times

• Coordinate with servers and management to maintain smooth service flow

• Assist with maintaining a positive and energetic dining atmosphere

Restaurant Support

• Help set and clear tables as needed

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the host stand and entry area

• Assist servers and support staff during busy periods

Opening & Closing Duties

• Assist with restaurant opening and closing procedures

• Help reset the dining room for the next service
