Job Overview:
The primary role of the Baker position is to consistently produce fresh, high-quality doughnuts quickly and efficiently in order to provide our guests with high-quality service and products in a team environment. The shop provides a variety of baked goods for daily retail, catering, and special event sales.
Please note that the approximate hours of this role are 12 am to 9 am (although starting earlier and finishing earlier are acceptable).
Retail Sales and Catering pickup begin at 6 am.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Mix, roll & cut high-quality yeast doughnuts quickly, efficiently, and consistently with accurate size & shape
- Mix, roll & cut high-quality cake doughnuts quickly, efficiently, and consistently that are accurate in size & shape, according to Daylight Standards
- Fry all doughnuts using the right oil temperature and timing for each specific doughnut
- Identify undercooked, misshaped, and undersized doughnuts
- Open & close your station according to health and company standards
- Maintain a clean working station and equipment with a “clean as you go” motto
- Communicate effectively with your teammates to promote safety and to achieve our mission of serving fresh doughnuts
- Support the FOH Team by keeping our display racks full for our guest’s view, taste, and purchase
- Maintain a welcoming and friendly work environment for all guests and teammates

Qualifications:
- A High School degree is required
- Kitchen and/or Baking experience preferred
- Military Food Service MOS preferred but not required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Quick Learner and able to multi-task, paying attention to detail
- Coachable, positive, and driven. Willing and able to work within a team to achieve the same purpose
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic, wants to grow & develop, and takes initiative
- Flexible to do many different jobs in the kitchen in different roles as needed
- Current Food Handlers Certification required
- Must be willing and able to stand for extended hours. Willing to work overtime if and when necessary

Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for taking orders from customers, preparing specialized coffee drinks, serving doughnuts, and handling customer payment, while contributing to the success of the café environment.
Hours:
This position is needed all day. The shop opens at 6am and closes at 10 pm weeknights and 11 on weekends. Flexibility on shifts is available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses a “Guest First” decision-making process in prioritizing duties.
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service.
- Has a positive attitude and creates a rapport with customers.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Exhibits a high level of product knowledge, including ingredients and allergen information; answers customers’ questions.
- Takes orders from customers and handles customer payment transactions.
- Prepares coffee-related drinks, including espresso, in alignment with Daylight's recipe and quality standards.
- Displays and serves doughnuts, pastries, sandwiches and bottled beverages based on the current menu composition
- Observes and restocks inventory levels; communicates product supply needs to the supervisor.
- Cleans espresso machine, and maintains clean and sanitary work and service areas.
- Cleans and ensures the cleanliness of bathrooms and dining area – busses tables empties the trash, washes dishes, scrub and wipe bathrooms, sweeps, and mops floors.
- Counts money, makes change, balances cash drawers, and is responsible for accurate cash handling.
- Practices food safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Adheres to Daylight Donut policies, procedures, and training guidelines.
- Position may or may not hold a key to the café.
- Must be able to mix alcoholic coffee and ice cream drinks.
- The position is 21+ as the position handles alcohol
- Additional duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a customer-focused, customer first, attitude.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn P.O.S. system for cashiering duties.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- A food handler’s permit is required.

Work Environment:
The work environment is a typical coffee shop setting and this position is constantly working in front of a large espresso machine. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees working at a café with a drive-thru may be exposed to both heat and cold (weather-related). Safe use of common cleaning agents, such as bleach, can be expected.
The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

- Efficiently take customer orders, box them accurately according to Daylight standards and close out your interaction with a thank you

Job Overview:
Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, to be responsible for a donut shop operation, to include the production of quality baked goods according to stringent deadlines, based on a precise knowledge of all of the company outlined recipes.
Hours:
9 am to 5pm
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Must have open availability and reliable transportation.
- Must speak fluent English and have the ability to train staff in English
- Must be able to complete all production and customer service tasks
