    Job Description

    Full Job Description

Hourly Wage: $18-23 based on experience

    Positions available: Experienced Line Cook

We are on the search a for an experienced line cook with a few years experience. Strong candidates are good kind people that enjoy a fast paced kitchen but approach work positively. We have many employees that have been at the Civil Life for 10+ years and are hoping to add an employee or two that is conscientious in their approach to work, competent and kind.

Work in a temperature controlled top of the line kitchen with competitive pay, good benefits and positive work environment.  We have a concise menu consisting of sandwiches, appetizers, a few entrees and rotating specials.

In March of 2022, the Civil Life completed a remodel/ expansion of it’s brewing facility in Tower Grove South. During the process we added a professionally designed kitchen. Great care was taken to create a comfortable 900 sq feet work environment with some natural light, ucrete concrete covering (great for keeping it clean) and a state of the art CaptiveAire Handling system designed to maintain a pleasant work temperature even in the most extreme St. Louis summer weather or a cold winter. Despite the size of our previous kitchen, The Civil Life was well known for it’s food prior to our remodel. Our menu takes some cues from our previous sandwich/ appetizer menu but with the increased production capabilities of the new kitchen we explore additional international and regional pub centric fare. Our most popular day is Sunday, which in the winter is packed as regulars enjoy our Soup Sunday in droves.  On good weather spring and summer days our patio is packed with families and a good range of drinkers from 21 to 80 years old creating a true pub experience.
