As a licensed and registered family childcare program in Philadelphia, we serve children ages 6 weeks through Pre-K using a play-based learning philosophy that supports cognitive, physical, social, and emotional growth.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Childcare Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience working in a childcare setting, enjoys working with infants and preschoolers, and is committed to helping children reach their full potential in a safe and loving atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Care & Safety

• Create a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children.

• Provide individualized care based on each child’s needs and parent-provided schedules.

• Feed children healthy, approved meals and accurately document meals, toileting/diapering, and naps.

• Support children with self-regulation challenges, assist with sleep routines, and manage diapering or restroom needs.

• Maintain a clean and organized environment; report and respond to any injuries immediately.

Education & Classroom Management

• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that include art, sensory play, science, math, and literacy activities.

• Foster a play-based learning environment that promotes exploration and creativity.

• Use positive behavior management techniques to guide children and ensure consistent practices.

• Decorate and maintain the classroom with displays that reflect curriculum themes and enhance the learning atmosphere.

Training & Compliance

• Follow all health, safety, and regulatory procedures (diapering, sunscreen application, and child ratios).

• Complete and maintain all required annual training hours.

• Coordinate with staff to maintain child-to-teacher ratios before leaving the classroom.

• Stay present and engaged with children — no personal cell phone use during classroom hours.

_Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of teaching or childcare experience in a daycare or preschool setting.

• CDA (Child Development Associate) credential preferred.

• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (can be obtained after hire).

• Successful completion of all required background checks.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements
