About Us
Bistro La Floraison is a French-inspired bistro & wine bar in St. Louis offering elevated seasonal menus, prix fixe dining, wine pairings, and an intimate, refined experience. We emphasize quality, hospitality, and culinary creativity in every dish.
As a Line Cook, you will be integral to our kitchen team, executing menu items with precision, supporting plating and consistency, and helping maintain a smooth kitchen workflow during service.
Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to the chef’s specifications and quality standards

Execute daily prep work: chopping, portioning, sauce preparation, mise en place

Maintain consistency in food execution (taste, texture, presentation) across service

Collaborate with the Sous Chef / Chef to adjust orders, specials, or menu changes

Monitor food inventory, rotate stock, and notify management of low supplies

Clean, sanitize, and maintain kitchen workstations, cooking equipment, and utensils

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety protocols (including temperature logs, labeling, and cleaning schedules)

Support team during rush periods by communicating and assisting where needed

Receive feedback and implement corrections to dishes or processes promptly
Qualifications & Skills

Previous experience in a fine dining, French, bistro, or upscale restaurant kitchen preferred

Understanding of classical cooking techniques, sauces, knife skills, and plating
-
Ability to work quickly, yet with attention to detail, under pressure

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Excellent teamwork, communication, and ability to take direction

Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe or equivalent)

Ability to stand for long hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot kitchen environments
