BAR K JOB DESCRIPTION – PARKBACK

Bar K is a unique business combining a thoughtfully designed, fully-staffed dog park with a modern bar, restaurant and event space. Bar K brings engaged, community-minded people and their dogs together to share connections with their pups and each other in a joyful and creative space.

Our goal at Bar K is to demonstrate an unsurpassed level of customer service to Bar K guests — both human and dog – to ensure that all guests have a joyful experience that consistently exceeds expectations.   

It is a complex concept that requires expert execution across multiple business segments including food and beverage, marketing, dog recreation, retail and others. 

SUMMARY

There are many different skills that are necessary to be a successful Parkback.  Always remember that both humans and the dogs in the park are our guests and should always be treated with the utmost care and respect. The Parkback’s responsibility is to assist the Dogtenders in the up-keep and cleanliness of the Park.  By taking upon certain duties, they can focus on the safety in the park. This position is essential to the park especially on higher volume days.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Work in tandem with the Park Team to ensure our space is clean at all times.
• Removing dog waste as quickly as possible and cleaning the affected area with cleaning supplies provided throughout the park.
• Ensure the Park watering stations are always filled
• Able to demonstrate proper communication via two-way radios
• Actively listening to the two-way radios for any requests the team may have
• Maintaining clean surfaces; tables, concrete paths, pool, turf.
• Checking trash cans on an hourly basis
• Assist the Park staff in Opening and Closing Duties
• Always represent Bar K positively by interacting with guests in a friendly, helpful and enthusiastic manner. Answer guests’ questions regarding dog behavior or Bar K’s business practices to the best of their ability, or refer the guest to a Bar K manager.
• And finally, don’t forget to HAVE FUN! We are all very fortunate to work in a dog park bar, and our guests (human and dog) will feed off our positive energy and enthusiasm.

• Must speak fluent English
• Frequently standing up or moving within and outside of the facility
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds

MINIMUM JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• Some customer service/hospitality experience preferred
• Dog handling experience and/or volunteering preferred but not required
• Display a positive attitude and demeanor
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Detail Oriented
• Must Love Dogs!
