Algonquin Golf Club is looking for A la Carte serving staff to help provide a quality dining experience for our club membership.
Pay: Employees are paid an hourly rate and employee meal is provided. Starting rates are competitive, based in part, on experience. Employees are eligible for golf on Mondays. Opportunities for full-time employment are available. Full time employees are paid time and a half on holidays. Health, dental, and life insurance is made available on the first of the month after 60 days of full time employment. Vacation and sick days begin accruing as soon as full time employment begins. 401k is available to full time employees after one year of employment.
Hours: Lunch shifts start at 10:30 AM T-F 10:00 AM S-S, Dinner shifts start at 4:30 PM. Normal working hours are Tuesday through Sunday, including some holidays and occasional Mondays. Over 30 hours would qualify as full-time.
Skills: Servers will be expected to know all A la Carte menu as well as any nightly specials. Additionally, a general knowledge of wine, liquor, and beer will be helpful. Management will assist in developing food & beverage knowledge & service skills. All levels of experience are welcome.
Qualifications:

Responsibilities include:
- Prepares function sites and assures meeting room is set according to BEO specifications
- Serves food and beverage items to guests based on established guidelines
- sets dining tables, buffets, and other service areas as according to banquet event order or as directed
- Communicates guest requests and concerns to the department Club House Manager
- Helps maintain clean banquet rooms, side stations and equipment
- Assists in inventory control and monitoring waste in banquet and catering area
- ensures the guests are provided with excellent customer service by anticipating their needs before they arise
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
- Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications for the Banquet Server:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months of banquet setting and serving experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrates good energy and motivation
- Knowledge of banquet set up
- Regular and reliable attendance is a must
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- must be able to lift 25lbs
