Department: General & Administrative

Reports To: General Manager/COO

Background and General Purpose of the Position:

The Membership Director/Marketing Coordinator is responsible for creating content, managing communications, and executing administration tasks, with a primary goal of ensuring members are properly engaging within the Club community.  This person must feel comfortable working alongside and within the membership and demonstrate the ability to maintain relationships within the Club community.

Primary areas of Responsibility:

Membership Adminstration

  • Assume full responsibility for the documentation and applications of all new members
  • Orienting new members into the Club Community
  • Maintaining the Prospective Member Database
  • Collecting and maintaining any status change requests within the current membership
  • Support the membership recruitment efforts

Membership Engagement

  • Tracking current member usage and following up in appropriate areas to encourage participation in Club functions
  • Attending all Club committee meetings and help develop strategic plans for engagement programming
  • Build relationships with members and learn about their priorities for participation within the Club
  • Plan and execute in-person and virtual events alongside the Event Coordinator that brings together the Club membership

External Communications

  • Continue to build on the Club's values of transparency and community with a thoughtful, meaningful and consistent member communications program
  • Maintain the online Clubhouse Calendar
  • Manage the Club's web content and online/SEO presence
  • Design and distribute all Club communications including weekly updates, newsletters, messages from leadership, and other pertinent information

Internal Communications

  • Provide regular updates to the leadership team and Board of Governors on the member community, and advise how they can best help strengthen the community and improve the value proposition for members
  • Help senior staff maintain a positive Employee Culture through regular engagement and recognition opportunities
  • Oversee the reception team and ensure all communications are shared with them and the appropriate staff members
  • Administer all Board of Governors materials, meetings, and communications as appropriate
  • Assist General Manager with projects and special assignments as needed.

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred with a focus on Marketing and/or Hospitality
  • In lieu of a degree, substantial experience in sales and marketing communications within a private club or similar environment will be considered.
