About Us
Bistro La Floraison is a French-inspired bistro & wine bar in St. Louis offering elevated seasonal menus, prix fixe dining, wine pairings, and an intimate, refined experience. We emphasize quality, hospitality, and culinary creativity in every dish.
As a Line Cook, you will be integral to our kitchen team, executing menu items with precision, supporting plating and consistency, and helping maintain a smooth kitchen workflow during service.
Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to the chef’s specifications and quality standards

Execute daily prep work: chopping, portioning, sauce preparation, mise en place

Maintain consistency in food execution (taste, texture, presentation) across service

Collaborate with the Sous Chef / Chef to adjust orders, specials, or menu changes

Monitor food inventory, rotate stock, and notify management of low supplies

Clean, sanitize, and maintain kitchen workstations, cooking equipment, and utensils
-
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety protocols (including temperature logs, labeling, and cleaning schedules)

Support team during rush periods by communicating and assisting where needed

Receive feedback and implement corrections to dishes or processes promptly
Qualifications & Skills
-
Previous experience in a fine dining, French, bistro, or upscale restaurant kitchen preferred
-
Understanding of classical cooking techniques, sauces, knife skills, and plating
-
Ability to work quickly, yet with attention to detail, under pressure

Strong organizational and time-management skills
-
Excellent teamwork, communication, and ability to take direction

Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe or equivalent)

Ability to stand for long hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot kitchen environments

Bistro La Floraison is a refined French bistro & wine destination in St. Louis, blending elegant dining with warm hospitality. Our Servers are ambassadors, ensuring guests feel welcomed, cared for, and delighted by every course and wine pairing. Bistro La Floraison is a part of the Take Root Hospitality of restaurants, including Vicia and Winslow's Table.
Duties & Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests with professionalism, warmth, and prompt service

Present menus, describe daily specials or prix fixe options, and make informed recommendations (food and wine)

Take accurate orders and communicate them clearly to kitchen staff

Serve food and beverages in an attentive, timely, and courteous manner

Suggest wine pairings and guide guests through our wine list

Monitor guest satisfaction, respond to questions or concerns, and escalate issues to management

Maintain knowledge of menu ingredients, allergies, and preparation methods

Set and clear tables, ensure polished tableware and linens
-
Handle payments, process billing, and close out guest checks with accuracy

Collaborate with hosts, bartenders, bussers, and kitchen staff to deliver a seamless dining experience

Adhere to service standards, restaurant policies, and safety guidelines
Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience in fine dining, upscale restaurant, or wine-forward establishment preferred

Knowledge of wine and ability to articulate pairings is a strong plus
-
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure

Strong attention to detail, polished presence, and customer-service mindset

Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods

Basic math skills and comfort handling payment systems

Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
